Read the Q&A below!

What was your favourite thing about the Reach Teacher Training course?

Building friendships with people who are on the same journey as me and having a safe space to talk to people who are in the same boat.

What is the most surprising thing you learnt about yourself this year?

That receiving feedback through observation would make me feel more confident in my classroom presence.

If you could go back and tell your 8-year-old self something you know now, what would it be?

You are able to use your passions that you have to inspire future generations

If you could go back and tell your 17-year-old self something you know now, what would it be?

If I could go back and tell your 17-year-old self something I know now, it would be that school was hard but you are going to make a difference to lots of children’s experiences, so that they can have something positive to look back on.

What are you most looking forward to about next year?

Having my own class to build my own culture and build great relationships from the get go with children and their families.

Where do you want to be in 5 years time?

Continuing to build great relationships with children across the school and hopefully starting my journey as a SENCO.

What are your long term career aspirations?

To become a SENCO alongside a class teacher.

What was the funniest thing that happened this year?

When one of the pupils projectile vomited across the classroom, a splatter hitting almost every child in sight.

What was the strangest/most surprising thing that happened to you in a classroom this year?

The sporting ability of the children who are so young. Being beaten in a 50 meter race by an 8 year old is very humbling.
