Government Bursaries
Bursaries are tax-free payments you receive if you’re training to teach certain subjects. Scholarships are awarded by organisations with a passion for their subject area. They combine tax-free payments with extra benefits.

| Subject | Bursary | Scholarship |
| Chemistry | £29,000 | £31,000 |
| Computing | £29,000 | £31,000 |
| Mathematics | £29,000 | |
| Physics | £29,000 | £31,000 |
| Design & Technology | £20,000 | |
| Languages | £20,000 | £22,000 (French, Spanish or German only) |
| Biology | £5,000 | |
| Geography | £5,000 |
Student Finance
Many trainees are eligible to apply for a student finance to cover tuition fees and living costs on top of these bursaries.
Self Finance
If you have the means you are welcome to finance your teacher training yourself. If you self-finance you may still apply for the Reach Teacher Training bursary.
